Jamie Bliss, who teaches courses in the School  of University of Arts & Sciences, School of Business and School of Environment & Geomatics, was nominated by students, faculty peers and community members for this prestigious award.

Nominators and supporters invariably commented on his engaging teaching style, how he nurtures his students toward excellence, how he works dynamically and collaboratively with colleagues, and how he goes above and beyond the call of duty to benefit not only our Selkirk College community but our partners in the region we serve.

Elizabeth Ferguson

Letters of support for Elizabeth Ferguson were numerous and effusive. One learner referred to her teaching accomplishments as “majestic,” and others agreed that Elizabeth completely embodies learner-focused, community engagement, innovation, fostering healthy and safe work and learning environments,  dynamism, and deep devotion to her students.

Duff Sutherland, chair of the School of University Arts & Sciences, noted all the contributions Elizabeth has made in developing new Indigenous courses, such as INDG 101, supporting faculty as they Indigenize their course content, and all the very important other roles that contribute to moving University Arts & Sciences forward in a good way as it incorporates Indigenous approaches and content.

Victor Villa
