Prior to moving to Nelson in 2003, Jamie served a judicial clerkship at the British Columbia Court of Appeal and qualified and practiced law in both Vancouver, and London, England. He initially specialized in labour and employment law and subsequently focused on structured finance.

In addition to instructing at Selkirk College, Jamie works for legal industry publishing companies, writing case summaries for research databases, and updating legal textbooks. 

He recently completed a certificate credential in Online/eLearning instruction through Vancouver Community College.
