Ryan comes from a Mathematics and Computer Science background. He received a M.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Ottawa in 2013.
During his M.Sc., his research was in Transcendental Number Theory and Diophantine Approximations. Since then he has gained an interest in how mathematics can be used to solve real life problems, which has led him into the world of data science. He has worked on projects in areas ranging from machine learning, statistical methods, to data storage and access.
Ryan now works in Advanced Computing at Selkirk Innovates and teaches Mathematics for the School of University Arts and Sciences at Selkirk College.
