Successful tech entrepreneur Brian Fry has deep roots in the West Kootenay. Rossland born and raised, he was coached to the National Alpine Ski Team before an accident changed the course of his life. Turning to Selkirk College, he gained confidence and a keen interest in computers that would carry him into a future marketing technology.

Tanya Tran arrived at Selkirk College from Eastern Canada wanting job training to complement her Bachelor of Science degree education. Two years later, as she nears graduation from the Integrated Environment Planning Program in the School of Environment & Geomatics, she isn’t only workforce ready; she’s rediscovered her passion for water protection in a region known for its waterways. Tran has been chosen as the Class of 2016 valedictorian.

The inspiring and impactful 25-year Selkirk College career of Judy Pollard will be honoured at the 2016 Graduation Ceremony in Castlegar on April 22 where she will receive the Distinguished Educator Award. Pollard is at the heart of the foundation of the Early Childhood Care & Education Program which has provided a truly meaningful impact on the families of the West Kootenay-Boundary region.
