Watershed Systems 1
Watersheds provide many essential services of nature and facilitate the movement of sediment, nutrients and freshwater from headwater regions to downstream rivers, lakes and oceans. The transfer of material through a watershed is governed by hydrogeomorphic processes which change with increasing scale and over time in response to changes in landcover, climate and other factors. Watershed Systems 1 is an intensive 2-day course intended to provide resource managers and environmental technicians with a holistic understanding of watershed systems and the skills to recognise some of the key hydrogeomorphological processes affecting watershed and stream channel response that can be influenced by forest and resource management activities. Course contains field-day component so please dress appropriately.
