Ceramics Basics & Beyond: Wheel Throwing, Trimming and Decorating Pottery

Category

Join artist and instructor Katriona Drijber for a five-day pottery course where you can learn or improve your pottery wheel skills. The course is open to all skill levels, and Katriona will be there to help you learn if you're interested.

Learn how to throw mugs, bowls, plates and jars on the pottery wheel. You'll also learn how to trim these forms and pull and attach handles. Additionally, there will be demonstrations on how to carve, paint, inlay and slip trail various decorative elements.

Please note that this course will focus on greenware, and students won't be able to fire their work during the course. The course cost includes clay.

Supplies

Students need to bring a basic toolkit for ceramics (sponge, wire tool, pin tool, metal rib, wooden knife) and other tools if they have them. Brushes would also be great.

Tuition includes one box of clay per student.
