This workshop provides an overview of the theory and skills of Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP). UCP is a nonviolent strategy where trained volunteers or professionals are deployed in volatile situations to reduce violence and to create safer spaces for flourishing diverse communities.
Guided by the principles of social justice, human rights and international law, UCP works under the guidance of local leadership to observe and record, engage in advocacy and participate in protective accompaniment of vulnerable individuals and groups.
The theory and skills in this hands-on course can be used in an individual's everyday life, as well as the basis for forming organized responses to support community safety.
Cost
