Please join third-year Nursing Program students on Friday, December 8 at the Nelson United Church. They are raising funds for their practice experience to Guatemala in the spring.
The evening will include uplifting song by members of the Doukhobor Choir, a silent auction, and a stimulating presentation on Community Health in the rural highlands and jungles of Guatemala. Recently returned students from the Guatemala experience will also talk about the precedent - setting legal court case against HudBay Minerals and the national campaign underway to address the urgent environmental and human rights violations with Canadian mining practices.
Abundant community support has been the foundation in making this international practice experience possible, and the program is most grateful to local citizens, businesses and organizations.
Cost is $15 at the door. Children are most welcome. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
