Danielle is an educator, learner, writer, and researcher who believes that meaningful education exists at an intersection between teaching and care. She holds a Liberal Arts Diploma in Writing Studies from Selkirk College, a BA in English from TRU, and an MEd from TRU. She has worked in community and academic settings as a teacher, tutor, literacy facilitator and employment counsellor.

In her MEd research project, Danielle explored the historical and philosophical roots of caring theory, focusing on the benefits of Indigenous, feminist and existential ethics of care. From this research, she developed a writing for self-development workbook for caring professionals called Returning to the Emptied Soul: Healing the Self in Caring Practice. Danielle is also a creative writer and has published nonfiction works focused on the topics of motherhood, mental health and grief/bereavement.

Of all her roles, Danielle's most cherished role is that of "mom" to her young boys, Xander and Misha. She loves spending her free time at children's programming, the library, the pool and outdoor parks with her family.
