Canada-China Scholars’ Exchange Program offers full scholarship opportunities for Selkirk College students to study Chinese language and culture in China. The scholarship covers round-trip flights, tuition, accommodation, local medical insurance, and a monthly stipend of $500.

East China Normal University (ECNU) in Shanghai offers students the opportunity to study Chinese language and culture in one of China’s most dynamic and international cities. Located in Shanghai, students can experience a vibrant blend of traditional Chinese culture and modern city life while studying at a leading university.
Hainan Normal University (HNU) in Haikou, Hainan provides students with an opportunity to experience Chinese language and culture in a beautiful tropical setting. Students can enjoy Hainan’s unique culture, warm climate, and beautiful coastal environment while studying at the university.
These scholarship opportunities provide Selkirk College students with an excellent way to immerse themselves in Chinese language and culture, experience daily life in China, explore different parts of the country by high-speed train, and build meaningful international connections.
Taiwan
Study Chinese language and culture while experiencing Taiwan’s vibrant communities, rich traditions, and modern campus life.
Hungkuang University (HKU) in Taichung offers a range of academic and cultural learning opportunities for international students. Located in the vibrant city of Taichung, students can enjoy Taiwan’s food, culture, and local communities while developing their Chinese language skills. HKU also offers a short-term two-week Chinese language and culture program each August.
National Taipei University of Business (NTUB) in Taipei offers opportunities for international students to experience Taiwan’s business education and culture while studying at a university specializing in business and management.
Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages (WZU) in Kaohsiung specializes in languages and international education. Students can immerse themselves in Chinese language and culture while experiencing the friendly atmosphere and rich cultural life of southern Taiwan.
Shih Chien University (SCU) in Taipei is known for its programs in design, business, and international education. Students can experience Taiwan’s dynamic culture while studying in a welcoming and creative university environment.

Thailand
Chiang Mai University (CMU) in Chiang Mai offers students opportunities to study Thai language and culture while experiencing life in one of Thailand’s most welcoming and culturally rich cities. Students can explore Thailand’s unique traditions, local communities, delicious cuisine, hotsprings, and beautiful temples while developing their language skills.

Travel and Learn
- To apply for a semester-long study abroad exchange experience, complete the Education Abroad Application Form and email it to the study abroad coordinator. Apply as early as possible as available spaces at partner institutions fill up quickly.

- Once you have been accepted to study abroad, you will need to complete other institution-specific application forms.
- If you are applying to develop a new study abroad experience, you will need to conform to Selkirk College's Policy: 8360: Education Abroad and complete the required application and forms.
