Learn about Traditional Foods and Cooking Methods
Employees are encouraged to join Sn̓ʕ̓ay̓ckstx Knowledge Keepers and On-the-Land Specialist Melissa Dorey as they reconnect with traditional foods and cooking methods.
This two-day gathering will highlight a variety of traditional Indigenous foods and plant materials through a pit-cook demonstration.
A morning fire and pit-cook preparation will begin the gathering, with opportunities to learn and connect with Indigenous Knowledge Keepers throughout the day. The pit cook will be opened up on the second day, followed by a sharing of food.
