The Adult Upgrading Grant (AUG) is a provincially sponsored assistance program that provides grant funding for adult students enrolled in skills upgrading, education and training courses who can demonstrate financial need.
You may be eligible for an AUG if you are:
Attending a public post-secondary institution in BC
Enrolled in skills upgrading or education and training courses, including Adult Basic Education, Accessible Education & Training and English as a second language
The AUG covers direct educational costs:
Required textbooks and course packs
Transportation costs (restrictions may apply)
Unsubsidized childcare costs
Tuition fees (if applicable)
Find out more and download the application form.
The AUG is taxable income. We will mail out T4As to students at the end of February every year (they are not available online). You will only receive a T4A if the funding you received exceeds $499.
If you think you should have received a T4A but didn't, contact the Financial Aid Office.
Unfortunately, Upgrading and SOAR courses are not eligible for the T2202A tuition tax credit.
