Over 400 students gathered with Selkirk College employees, local businesses, industry representatives, future learners and community members at the annual Career Fair & Open House for a lively day of forging connections and mapping out remarkable futures! A big thank you to Interfor and the other generous sponsors who contributed to the event.

Those on the cusp of graduating from Selkirk College had a chance to see what opportunities await when they are ready to apply their newfound knowledge, skills and training. Employers across various sectors were eager to meet future team members who are currently earning the education needed for exciting careers.

“The Open House & Career Fair is a vital platform for connecting the future workforce with businesses and non-profit organizations,” says Jessica Adrain, Co-op Education & Employment Services advisor. “Thank you to this year’s exhibitors and sponsors, who play an important role in shaping the career development of current and graduating students.”

While current students considered life after college, high school students from around the region explored the programs and pathways that might hold their keys to their future educational dreams.

“Opening our doors to future students really gives them a sense of the many opportunities here at Selkirk College,” says Aimie Chernoff, educational recruitment coordinator. “They learn about our programs directly from instructors and advisors and get a real sense of how their post-secondary education can get them started on the right path.”
