Core Skills for Facilities Maintenance 4: HVAC Care and Maintenance

In this 30-hour theory and practical course, students will learn about HVAC systems, safety procedures, thermostats and control systems, maintenance processes, theory of hydronics, forced air ventilation, air movement and balancing, duct work design and parts, troubleshooting, fan and air handlers, gas and electric furnaces and air conditioning.

Students will learn to describe the components of an HVAC system & the appropriate tools to use; inspect furnace/thermostats/pumps/boilers/air handlers for periodic maintenance; troubleshoot basic air handling systems (unregulated) and understand when to call a contractor.

Course Completion

Students who attend 100% of the course and achieve a minimum of 70% on assignments, practical and written assessments will receive a certificate of completion for this course. Students who successful complete all 6 courses of the Core Skills for Facilities Maintenance will receive a program certificate of completion.
