David has a Masters in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Applications from Vancouver Island University, a bachelor's degree in GIS, and a diploma in Recreation, Fish, and Wildlife from Selkirk College. He is an experienced advanced and complex operations drone pilot, specializing in remotely piloted aircraft system mission management and airborne sensor-tech data acquisition. He has proven experience in leading field operations, project safety, public relations, hardware management and a unique ability to apply technology to business processes. His research interests include remote sensing, drones, food security, fish and wildlife conservation, 3D and hydraulic modeling, forestry, and sustainable rural development.
David is active in the Castlegar community serving as President of the Kootenay Food Strategy Society responsible for the Castlegardens community garden space. He resides with his wife and children in Castlegar and enjoys skiing, biking, fishing, kayaking, horticulture, photography and videography.
