Instructor, Bachelor of Science in Nursing

I am an alumna of the Selkirk College and UVic BScN program. Since graduating I have worked primarily in community nursing settings including pediatric home care, withdrawal management, home health, access coordination, First Nations community outreach, and COVID-19 assessment/testing.

I pursued teaching in the BScN program because I feel that students and new graduates have such an important role in the healthcare system, to help shift it toward being a more inclusive, collaborative, upstream, equitable, accessible, and decolonized system. I want to support and promote empowerment of students in recognizing this potential and the opportunities they have to create positive change, achieve their goals, and realize visions they have of being fantastic RNs.

I am originally from the Cariboo-Chilcotin, and moved to Nelson in 2006. I am grateful to call this traditional territory of Ktunaxa and Sinixt First Nations peoples, home. The mountains, rivers and lakes keep me entertained and active on my days off. My garden and kitchen allow my creative and artistic sides to flourish. I value my relationships with my close friends and family who help me feel grounded and balanced.
