Instructor, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Postgraduate Gerontological Nursing

My name is Katrina Verschoor, and I am a proud 1992 graduate of the Selkirk College RN Diploma program. I obtained by undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of British Columbia and my Provincial Instructor Diploma from Vancouver Community College.

Over the past 26 years I have enjoyed a very busy and enriching career as a pediatric nurse at BC Children’s Hospital and in the Lower Mainland Tricities area. Additionally, over the past 13 years I have been in various educator roles both in clinical and college settings with a focus on Quality, Safety and Risk Management within healthcare. I have a passion for acute medical surgical and geriatric specialties and enjoy teaching many subjects and working in a wide range of clinical settings.  I am currently working toward obtaining my post-masters NP certificate with a keen interest in older adults.

My greatest passions are my family, my community, the nursing profession, and, of course, teaching and learning!  It is my pleasure to be able to call Selkirk College my home and facilitate the learning journey of others.
