Instructor, Social Service Worker

I have worked in the social work field for 15 years before starting to teach at Selkirk College in the Human Services program in 2015.  My background includes working with youth, adults and families in the RCMP Victim Service program, in community services programs and in private practice.  My focus is on crisis interventions and anti-violence work where I sit on the VAWIR (Violence Against Women in Relationship Committee).  I also co-facilitated the development of the Castlegar Domestic Violence Protocols (2010), and helped develop the SKY (Safe Kids and Youth) protocols for Castlegar.

I am an alumnus of Selkirk College with a diploma in Human Services, Bachelor of Social Work from University of Victoria and a Masters of Social Work from Dalhousie.  I love the energy of teaching in the classroom and learning something new every day.
