Read a book that highlights Indigenous voices and join a reading circle to explore themes related to truth and reconciliation. This year’s short-listed Selkirk Reads! books span fiction, poetry, memoir, non-fiction and children's literature.

Selkirk Reads! is loosely based on CBC Radio’s Canada Reads, in which five notable Canadians champion a book they feel every Canadian should read. In Selkirk Reads! book champions will form a circle of readers who will meet once to discuss their chosen book.

Join a Reading Circle

Students, employees and community members are welcome to join a reading circle. Reading circles will meet once to discuss the book. To take part in a reading circle, choose a book and send an email to its champion by Friday, October 17. Champions will connect with readers directly to schedule a reading circle.

Book champions will speak about their books at an event in November. Stay tuned for more details!
