After teaching high school strength and conditioning as well as working with teams and athletes as a kinesiologist, Tanja started in the Athletics & Recreation Department at Selkirk College when she moved to the Kootenays in 2022.

Tanja grew up in North Vancouver and graduated from Capilano University with a Diploma in Human Kinetics. She continued her studies at Douglas College and completed her degree in Physical Education and Coaching while specializing in Kinesiology. She is super excited to be part of the team at Selkirk College and contribute to the recreation and athletic opportunities within the community.

Tanja also works as a rehabilitation specialist with the RDCK and runs her own business as a strength and conditioning coach. When Tanja is off the clock, she can be found skiing in the back country, hiking in the woods or working up a sweat in the gym.

Tanja says that one of the best parts of working at Selkirk College is the staff and students. She believes that surrounding yourself with positive people who work together is one of the most valuable things in a workplace. She also loves the location of the college and can often be found running the trails during her lunch break!
