Meet the Trainer
Guest presenter, Cathy Potkins brings over 27 years of expertise in chronic disease management, with a deep passion for helping individuals live healthier, more empowered lives. She holds a degree in Exercise Physiology and a Master’s in Cardiac Physiology and is a certified Clinical Exercise Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine.
Cathy spent 12 years leading Cardiac Rehabilitation and Diabetes Centers in White Rock, BC, where she helped countless individuals manage and improve their health. For the past 16 years, she has worked as a respected consultant in Nelson, BC, sharing her knowledge and experience with communities across the region.
Known for her engaging teaching style and evidence-based approach, Cathy is committed to making heart health education accessible, practical, and inspiring.
Cindy Lazenby is the facilitator of the Seniors’ Health for Life Series, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to senior wellness. A former Registered Nurse, Cindy has spent much of her career focused on health education and training, with a special emphasis on age-related conditions and preventative care.
Her diverse background in healthcare and her passion for empowering older adults make her an exceptional guide for this series. Cindy’s warm, approachable style and collaborative spirit create a welcoming learning environment where participants feel informed, supported, and inspired to take charge of their health.
