Off-Campus Housing

The housing markets in the Kootenay and Boundary regions are very competitive. Make sure to have your housing references ready before making any housing inquiries. Landlords may ask personal questions, such as if you have a job and/or where you attend school.

Tips on Renting in Our Regions

  • Move-in dates are normally the first day of each month. Tenants give landlords one month's notice.

  • Landlords will ask new tenants to pay a damage deposit. This fee is half the cost of one month's rent. It will be returned upon moving out, providing the rented unit hasn't been damaged.

  • Double-check which campus your program is located on. Although applications such as Google Maps will give you an estimated travel length, weather can dramatically impact the length of a commute. Make sure to give yourself more than enough time to drive to your destination.
