We have all experienced language change. The first class will examine different types of language change (examples from the history of English). The second class will exemplify how social forces drive language change. In both sessions, we will try to classify, understand and appreciate the changes we have witnessed.
Meet the Trainer
Ian holds a PhD in Linguistics and has taught at several post-secondary institutions, including Monash University (Melbourne), the National University of Singapore, York University, and the University of Sydney. His courses cover a wide range of subjects, including Historical Linguistics, History of English, and Structure of English.
