Nelson Threshold Singers Songbath

There are over 250 Threshold Choir chapters around the world. The Nelson Threshold Singers have been involved in this organization since March 2018. Our primary mission is to sing at the bedside of those who are palliative. However, there are many "thresholds" in life, including illness, grief, recovery and healing, mental health issues and living in pain. In this course, participants will not be singing; they will experience a sound bath.

When invited, we usually sing as a trio, offering songs of solace and comfort to those in need. Our songs are primarily from a repertoire of hundreds of compositions written by Threshold members. We offer this service as a gift to our community. Our service is free, though donations are welcome.

Currently, our choir has 11 members and a waitlist of prospective members. We are a leaderful group and strive to work collaboratively. We teach new members the core songs, share about our choir culture, and provide training for those who want to sing at the bedside.

Many of us have done hospice training, and there are two death doulas in our choir, so we are well versed in supporting those who are dying and their loved ones. We consider it an honour to be of service.

Open for registration on Friday, January 9, at 12:30 pm.
