I have been working at the Nakusp Adult Learning Centre on and off for about three years. I am delighted that I get the opportunity to help people work towards graduation, or upgrade for a college or university course.
I moved to Nakusp in 2008 from a small city in Australia called Wagga Wagga, in New South Wales. As someone who grew up in a warm climate, I still get excited when I see snow, but I have trouble finding somewhere warm enough to swim.
During the summer I enjoy riding my bicycle around Nakusp, preferably downhill. In the winter I enjoy skiing at Summit Lake Ski Hill and soaking in the excellent local hot springs.
Prior to working for the college, I have been employed as a secondary and elementary school teacher, a technical assistant on a vineyard, and as a telecommunications technician.
